Yes I know we all have talked about salary caps --and Million Dollars Duds --
I just read that Brian Posey a 22 year Catcher in AAA not quite ready for Prime Time was given a $6.28 Million Dollar signing Bonus in 2008 or when ever. I do believe it is time that MLB quit these outrageous Million dollar contracts. No wonder MLB is going broke -- yeah I know -- who is fooling who -- but ultimately it will happen. Do believe I'm going to watch the Las Vegas 51's --now Toronto top farm team, and watch Dudley Do Right, tickets are only $7 to $8 a game, and the coffee is great, nice comfy stadium, holds 3 its that small -- well kind of, but nice. |

This is a multi faceted problem, and I don't claim to have all the answers.
The owners need to grow a set of rocks and just refuse to quit paying these stratosphere salaries. They need to have the intestinal fortitude to weather the storm when this policy will cost them a star player or two. The advertisers need to grow a set as well, and follow Pepsi's lead in this year's Super Bowl. Just say no to the HUGE advertising rates, that eventually the consumer pays more for grocery store items, and the like. And the players need to get the thought process out of their heads that because they play in the bigs for only so long they are entitled to huge, huge salaries. Here's a concept - ever hear of getting a job and working for a living once your playing days are done? And the legal system needs to stay out - no more judgments that the big bad owners were guilty of collusion against the overworked and underpaid players. Common sense needs to re-enter the game. This is why it costs a single person at least $75 to attend a MLB game, something in my younger days we did for $15 to $20. Let alone a family to attend. Bootom line is all parties involved are too greedy to see that they are killing the fatted calf. ![]() ASSUME THE POSITION - BEYOTCH! Home of the 2011 SuperBowl Champions!
WOMB TO THE TOMB BROWNS FAN LOOKS LIKE WE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT THIS TIME WHEN WE HIT THE RESET BUTTON!!! |
